His initial role involved ensuring the quality and safety of chemical products, where his acute attention to detail and procedural discipline quickly earned him a promotion to QA Team Leader in 1999. In this capacity, Shane led a team dedicated to sustaining high-quality standards across production lines until 2003.

In 2004, Shane advanced to a pivotal role in operations management as a Production Shift Leader. This role allowed him to leverage his background in science and his leadership skills, significantly influencing the operational practices at Stepan Company. His adept management and operational insight led to a further promotion in 2006 to Production Team Leader, where he was responsible for several critical operational departments, including Blends, Drum Dry, and Drum Out.

From 2010 to 2013, Shane led the Amphoteric department, emphasizing productivity and strict safety protocols. His exemplary leadership in these roles culminated in his promotion in 2013 to Senior Team Leader for the Phthalic Anhydride and Polymers division. Here, Shane managed a diverse team, orchestrating complex production processes and ensuring seamless operations across the board.

Under Shane's stewardship, his division not only met but often surpassed operational and safety goals, achieving an enviable record of nine consecutive years without a safety incident. His role also required managing significant financial budgets and overseeing major capital projects, which he executed with meticulous precision and strategic foresight.

Beyond his professional life, Shane is an ardent supporter of various charitable causes, including the Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) Family Alliance. He is also an advocate for human and women's rights, promoting equality and justice in all aspects of life.
